IT - Italian Trattoria Lille Place de la Gare

I've been going to this restaurant for a few months now, mainly for the coffee and sometimes the pizzas 😊... I find the staff friendly, pleasant, and smiling...

I really want to thank the chefs, because it was truly excellent. However, I'd like to address something I find very important and quite disturbing. There was a blonde employee who was speaking very rudely to a cook—I think he was a kitchen assistant or a sous-chef—in front of the customers. That's completely unacceptable; it's unprofessional. It made him uncomfortable, and me too. Frankly, I'm telling you what I saw; he was doing his job properly, and I really commend him for keeping his cool.

The food was very good. Generous portions. More of a fast-food place than a restaurant: order at the kiosk and pick up your order at the counter. Service was rather slow.

The staff were very friendly, the drinks were excellent and perfectly portioned! The pasta was delicious, the portions weren't too heavy, and the dishes were well-balanced. We'll be back! :)

We've seen better, the toilets were very dirty.

I am very disappointed with my experience at this café. The service was truly awful, and the staff were not at all welcoming. I didn't even order anything because I felt so uncomfortable due to their attitude and the way they spoke. An employee approached me and rudely asked me to ask my daughter to leave the table, saying she was disturbing the other customers, even though no one else seemed bothered. Furthermore, the table was dirty and in poor condition. I absolutely do not recommend this place or the behavior of the staff, whether it was the young woman or the young man. A very disappointing experience.

The waiter used his bare hands to scoop grated cheese from a communal container and sprinkled it over my pasta with his palm, but he was too nice. The pasta was okay, but I didn't find it very Italian. The pizza was also average. And the other waiter, when I went to get my dessert, seemed a bit like I was bothering him. He just placed it on the table instead of handing it to me directly.

I can't judge the food because I couldn't place my order. The cashier pretended not to see me and let everyone else go ahead of me! I suggest the manager review the customer service (to put it mildly) of their cashier (June 19, 2025, between 10:30 and 11:00 AM). Very disappointed with the service.

We came during a stay and had requested cream-based sauces for our meals; we received tomato sauce instead. We asked for a cheese to be removed from a pizza, which wasn't done; luckily, we didn't have any allergies. To top it all off, we got sick afterwards. This is definitely the first IT restaurant I haven't recommended.

A very good restaurant opposite Lille train station. The tomato and burrata salad was excellent and generous, the pesto pasta was superb, and the tiramisu was delicious. The staff was friendly, dynamic, and professional. I highly recommend it.
